Chevraya Alef

Alef, our chevraya for 3rd through 6th graders, is focused on teaching the chanichim, the children, the goals and ideals of Bnei Akiva, while at the same time making the experience fun and enjoyable. Snif, which takes place on Shabbat afternoons in three different locations throughout Chicago and Skokie, brings the chanichim closer to each other as well as to their madrichim, or counselors. At Snif, the chanichim are instilled with a love of Torah, and a deeper connection with the land of Israel and its people. Snif is something that every chanich or chanicha looks forward to each week. In addition to the weekly Snif, there are many other events that take place on various dates throughout the year. Some may include: movie nights, Chanukah parties, basketball games, and lots more. Finally, at the end of the year, Chevraya Alef has a shabbaton -- a Shabbat spent all together, singing, learning, and having a great time. It is beautiful to see the relationships formed between chanichim and their madrichim, and the love of Bnei Akiva that a chanich develops after only one short year together.
