Torah Va’Avodah is the phrase coined by Shmuel Chayim Landau (Shachal) which encapsulates the ideology of the Bnei Akiva movement. These two words serve to highlight the deep synthesis that Bnei Akiva strives for, but of course, they can’t capture the full richness or complexity of the philosophy of life and Judaism to which they refer. Since the phrase was coined, its exact meaning and significance has been analyzed and debated, with people over the years suggesting different explanations and nuances.
